Dvd Storage Cabinet Sliding Doors

DVD Storage Cabinet With Sliding Door

Do you have tons of DVDs at home, but don't know how or where to store it? Or even if you have a place to keep them, do you always have a hard time finding the DVD that you need because they are not arranged and organized well? Then the DVD storage cabinet with sliding door is the solution for you.

While media towers that rotate and swivel are the more popular choice in storage of DVDs and other media, this takes up a lot of space. Also, not too many DVDs can be placed in a media tower. Drawers also can provide storage for DVDs, but you would need a wider drawer for more storage.

The DVD storage cabinet with sliding door is the best choice for your collection. Not only does it make the most out of limited space, it also works better for people seated in wheelchairs compared to drawers or hinged cabinet doors. Designers have come up with many new models to match with your existing furniture. And manufacturers have improved the grooved tracks to make the opening and closing of the door smoother.

The sliding door can be made of wood, boardwood or glass. The toughest material among the three is wood, but it is the heaviest as well. Different attractive wood designs and finishes make the wood sliding door an excellent choice. It can blend well with the rest of the furniture in your home. However, this is difficult to maintain and is most expensive, more so if you want the rare or exotic wood types. Also, wood has the tendency to warp or expand when exposed to different temperatures.

Boardwood gives the appearance of real hardwood minus the weight and maintenance. While this is the least expensive, it is also the one that is least durable. But if proper care is given, your sliding door can actually last a long time.

More and more people use tempered glass sliding doors. Glass doors protect the DVDs from dust and moisture. Also, glass makes your room look brighter and fresh. Clear glass allows you to display your DVD collection without having to clean them often. This also provides easier access to the DVDs, so it would be easy for you to see which titles are missing. Others use frosted or colored glass doors. Frosted glass is not as transparent as clear glass but you can still see the contents of the cabinet. Colored glass doors can make your storage cabinet look interesting and unique.

Some sliding doors are a combination of different materials, such as wood and glass, or glass and metal, or wood and boardwood. You can now find wooden cabinets with window-paned doors, or steel cabinets with frosted glass doors.

Some manufacturers have developed a double-depth design for the DVD storage cabinet. This has two sliding storage sections in front that can be moved to the sides to show a third storage section inside. This is ideal especially if your collection is massive. Others have adjustable shelves so you can store other stuff like CDs, tapes and memorabilia in the same cabinet.

So whatever the size of your DVD collection, there is a cabinet to suit your storage needs. Choose from the wide array of DVD storage cabinets with sliding doors available in the market. This is one piece of furniture that any home should have.
